Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

This memorial website was created in the memory of my beautiful mother, Marge Kraynak, who succumbed to cancer of the pancreas on April 20, 2005.  Her spirit and inspiration will remain with me forever.

She was born Aug. 22, 1937, daughter of John & Elizabeth (Gardzar) Kraynak, and was the youngest of nine children.  The oldest of the siblings, Mary Anthony, passed away the day after my mom's birthday this year. Her brothers Joseph, John, Steve and sisters Elizabeth Dayner & Irene Fenton, preceded her in death.  She has 2 sisters still living, Ann Shotter & Julia Cenker.

My mom had three children, all girls.  I'm the oldest, Donna, and next is my sister Lisa and then my baby sister Maria.  My dad, Ken Hewitt, passed away in 1985.

One of my mom's greatest passions were flowers, she just loved all kinds and it seemed every Spring when it came time to plant annuals, she bought more than she did the previous year.  It became our yearly tradition to go flower shopping and having a truck really came in handy since it wasn't hard at all to fill the entire floor of the bed with them.  Impatiens seemed to be the most popular of what she bought
and I'd have to guess it was mainly because of all the different colors you can buy them in.  She also loved geraniums, especially the orangy-red colored ones which were also her mother's favorite color along with pansies being one of her mother's favorites.

Music was another thing my mom always loved all her life.  When it came to the music of the fifties, she could tell you the title and musician as soon as the song started playing.  She knew every single one of the songs from that era.

Walking was another pass time that my mother loved to do.  Her and my sister, Lisa, would often go walking together in the evenings or when my mom came to visit me we would walk in our neighborhood.  It was a
form of exercise she enjoyed doing as often as she could when she had someone to go with.

I chose this angel theme because she loved angels and started collecting them long before they ever became popular.  She had a couple hundred angels in her house by the time she passed away.

Another hobby of hers was bowling.  She must've started when I was about 16 yrs old and pretty much kept it up throughout her life until a couple years before she passed away.
Her zest for life and her compassion for people were probably two of her best traits....its no wonder she touched the hearts of so many people.

I could go on and on, especially since my mom had always loved sewing and sewed alot of our clothes when I was growing up.  She also was a great cook which is where I learned alot of my tips from, but besides so many of these other things, one of the things my mother loved dearly besides her own children of course, were her grandchildren.   They were definitely the apple of her eye......all seven of them.
This picture is the last family photo of all of us  including our spouses who she also loved as if they were her own sons.

DONNA'S THOUGHTS
I'll never understand why my mother had to be one of many to be stricken with this horrible type of cancer which has no cure. She had such faith in God throughout her lifetime, I would've never expected Him to pick her to give this disease to. She didn't deserve to die and I'm sure alot of people feel that way about their loved ones. I can only hope that someday things will make better sense to me.

I miss my mom so much and sometimes the ache I feel in my heart is so unbearable, all I can think of is wanting to be with her. I know how lucky I was to have had her for almost 50 years and cannot help but feel selfish at wishing I had her longer. But somehow I try to find comfort knowing she is no longer in pain and is with me always.
